Sourcing from China, paid from Asia

Most of this region does two things with China at once: buys from it and competes with it. Either way, an order ends the same way — an invoice in yuan, and a company bank account on the Chinese mainland that it has to reach. Eight markets below, each with today's reference rate and the pages written for it.

Where our part starts, and where it stops

We are the payment leg and nothing else. We do not source, inspect, ship or vet suppliers, and we are not an agent: finding the factory, checking the samples and getting the container moving is a different trade from ours. Our part starts at the invoice — yuan, into the supplier's business account at a mainland Chinese bank, over CNAPS. Across all eight markets here the funding leg is a USDT or USDC balance you already hold; there is no rupee, taka, peso, rupiah, dong or tenge pay-in anywhere in this region. The figure at the top of each country page is a timestamped reference reading, not the rate a payment settles at.

Buying from China while sitting next to it

An importer in this region is rarely only asking how to pay. They are asking whether to buy from China at all, against a domestic supplier in Gujarat or Karachi or Java who is nearer, quotes in the local currency and can be visited on a Tuesday. That comparison usually turns on landed cost and lead time rather than the unit price on the quotation, and it is a real decision with a defensible answer either way.

We have nothing to add to it, and pretending otherwise would be the fastest way to be useless. What we can make exact is one line of the comparison: what the yuan figure actually costs you to fund, read against a live reference rather than against a number an intermediary has quietly marked up. If the Chinese quote still wins after that line is honest, the payment is the easy part.

Where the money must land, and what gets refused

One kind of account can receive this money: a company account at a bank on the Chinese mainland, in the name of the business that issued your invoice. Three things fail against that rule, and they fail in code rather than in the small print — a personal account, a Hong Kong account, and the sourcing agent who asks to be paid himself and undertakes to square up with the factory afterwards. The third is the refusal this region argues with most and the one most worth keeping: an agent paid in his own name is the moment an order stops being traceable back to a supplier.

Payments are declared as goods or services, which is what a supplier invoice is. Size constrains very little at either end — a 55 CNY sample charge and a 65,000 CNY consignment are quoted the same way, off whatever liquidity exists in that second, which is why no fixed band is published anywhere on this site. The reading moves between opening the page and deciding, and nothing on it is locked or guaranteed. And when someone proposes a way of paying whose main attraction is that it appears to step around a rule rather than satisfy one, take it to your bank and your adviser first: their answer, not the proposer's, is the one that decides whether the order is worth placing.

Asia–China sourcing: the questions that keep coming back

Are you a sourcing agent?
No, and the distinction matters more on this page than anywhere else in the cluster. A sourcing agent finds the factory, negotiates, inspects the goods and arranges the shipment. We do none of that and never see your cargo. We move one thing: the invoice amount, in yuan, into the supplier's own business account on the Chinese mainland. If you already have an agent, we pay the factory they found for you. If you do not, we are not a substitute for one.
Can I pay in rupees, taka, pesos, rupiah, dong or tenge?
No. Every market on this page funds from a USDT or USDC balance you already hold, and no local-currency pay-in exists anywhere in the region. Rupees, taka and rupiah stay where they belong — in the budget, on the purchase order and in the year-end accounts. The invoice is read against that figure; it never passes through it. We put it that bluntly on purpose, because a buyer who only discovers it at the funding step has lost a day of the lead time they were trying to protect.
My supplier sent Hong Kong details, or asked to be paid personally. Can you do it?
Neither, and both refusals happen on the server rather than as advice you can override. The payout goes to a business account at a bank on the Chinese mainland, which means the company on your invoice, not a director's personal account and not an offshore entity. A supplier who cannot receive money as the company they invoiced you as is a question to resolve with them before the goods move, not a payment problem to route around.
Which of these eight pages should I start on?
Start where the payment leaves from. Each page is built around the searchers in one country and the rate reading those searchers ask for, then goes straight to what changes locally — and it is written in the language that market actually types in, so Kazakhstan's pages are in Russian, Indonesia's in Indonesian and Vietnam's in Vietnamese. Choosing by the balance you happen to be holding lands you on a regional average instead, and no supplier has ever been paid with an average.
