Paying China from Kazakhstan: one invoice, one funding source

Nobody types “payment to China” and stops there. There are four endings, and one of them is a no.

By invoice, in yuan, with crypto, from a company account. By invoice — yes, the payment is built around one. In yuan — yes, the recipient's amount is fixed in CNY. With crypto — yes, and it is the only way to fund the order: USDT or USDC from your Unigox Wallet balance. From a tenge current account — no, because this route has no tenge collection leg at all.

  • Companies only as recipients
  • Invoice fixed in yuan
  • Refusals happen before you spend

The invoice stays in yuan. Only what closes it changes.

The supplier's amount is entered once and is not recalculated to fit a budget. The funding figure is derived from it, in USDT or USDC.

The short answer

How do I pay a Chinese supplier from Kazakhstan?

USDT / USDCCNY

With a payment built around the invoice. The recipient amount is entered in yuan, the recipient is a company with an account at a mainland Chinese bank, and the payout runs over CNAPS, China's domestic interbank clearing system. The order is funded from your Unigox Wallet balance in USDT or USDC. A tenge bank transfer is not accepted here, and the supplier has nothing crypto-shaped to do: yuan lands in the company account.

Recipient checks and the amount band both fire before a payment record exists and before anything has been spent. A refusal at that stage costs nothing, which is why the steps are in that order.

Open payment flow

What to ask the supplier for before the first payment

A Chinese company's details are not a single line. Each field's format is checked when the recipient is saved, not at payout time, when a correction is expensive.

  1. 01

Two versions of the company name

The registered name in Latin letters and the same name in Chinese characters, as the receiving bank holds it rather than as it is written in a chat thread.

  2. 02

    Account, bank and phone

The account number exactly as issued, including any letter prefix; the name of the receiving bank; a mainland Chinese mobile number. The account belongs to the company, not to a person.

  3. 03

    Purpose and relationship

Whether the money is for goods or for services, and whether the party is your supplier or a service provider. Declared on each payment rather than once against the counterparty.

The recipient check runs before every payment and runs again if the details changed. It is a check on the payment route, not commercial diligence about the goods, the contract or the shipment.

What the route serves and what it turns away

  1. Step 01

    Serves: a company's invoice

An amount in yuan owed to a company with an account in mainland China, for goods or for services.

  2. Step 02

    Turns away: an individual's account

Personal details are refused on the server, and “it is the director's account” changes nothing.

  3. Step 03

    Turns away: funding in tenge

The only source is USDT or USDC on the Unigox Wallet balance. That applies to the cost of the payment as well.

Stablecoin rates and top-ups

01

“In yuan” and “with crypto” describe opposite ends of one payment

The two most common endings to this search look like alternatives and are actually the two ends of the same operation. “In yuan” is what the supplier gets: the invoice amount into their company's account. “With crypto” is how you close your own side: USDT or USDC on the Unigox Wallet balance. Which is why the question “will my supplier agree to crypto?” never comes up — they need no wallet, no address and no exchange account.

It is more honest to say why funding works this way than to present it as a feature. Money is collected in one fixed currency on this route and it is not the tenge; when the order is funded with stablecoin, the fiat collection step is simply not performed. That leaves the wallet as the only working path. If your working capital sits in a current account, this route gives you nothing today, and it is better to find that out now.

02

What the pre-check does and why it goes first

The order of the steps matters more than it looks. The pre-check comes first: is the recipient eligible, has the check on them passed, is a purpose declared, does the amount fall inside the band. All of that fires before a payment record exists — before the point at which a refusal starts to cost something.

The band is worth knowing in advance: roughly 55 CNY up to about 65,000 CNY for one payment. It is not a tariff table. Both ends are read from available liquidity at the moment of calculation and shown in the flow. A container deposit may well not fit into a single payment.

The calculation lives for a limited time, on the order of ten minutes, and is redone when it lapses — you see the new figure before doing anything else. There is no published Unigox rate, because the payout is matched to available liquidity. Nor do we name arrival times: those depend on the receiving bank.

03

1688, Alibaba and the request to pay a personal card

The story is familiar: the order is placed on a marketplace and the bank details arrive separately, in a chat, from a sales manager, sometimes in a person's name rather than a company's. That payment will not go through on this route, because an individual's account is refused and there is nothing to work around it with.

Inconvenient, and useful in the same breath. A gap between who your invoice says you owe and who you are being asked to pay is a reason to ask a question and to keep the answer next to the invoice.

Wallets are a separate matter. Alipay and WeChat are not part of this: those are consumer routes, money on them reaches a person and never a company, only two purposes are permitted — a transfer to yourself or family support — and the sender can only come from a narrow group, Chinese nationals living outside China with a fully completed profile.

04

Where the payment ends and your obligations begin

The payment service closes exactly one stretch: from your balance to a company account in China, with a saved recipient, a declared purpose and your invoice reference. Everything else around an import stays yours — the contract, currency control at your bank, customs, tax, the shipment documents. Your bank and your accountant answer those questions, not a payment page: we do not interpret Kazakh rules and we name no thresholds.

And one rule worth keeping in mind when choosing any route. If a payment method looks attractive precisely because it lets you get around something — a limit, a bank requirement, somebody's prohibition — that is a reason to ask your bank first, not a reason to use it.

Built for the way Kazakhstan pays China

Two things shape this flow: China is a major sourcing corridor for Kazakhstan, and the invoice at the end of it is written in yuan and paid into a mainland company account.

A high-volume trade corridorChina is among the largest sources of imports for Kazakhstan, which makes paying a Chinese supplier an ordinary business cost rather than an edge case.
Funding that matches real balancesThe same invoice is funded from USDT or USDC already held in a Unigox Wallet.

What Kazakh importers ask before the first payment

01Can I pay from the company's tenge current account?

No. The route cannot debit a tenge account: the currency it collects in is fixed and it is not the tenge. Payment is possible only from a USDT or USDC balance in the Unigox Wallet, and the tenge-to-stablecoin step is one you take earlier and outside the payment.

02The supplier is asking me to send to Alipay. What now?

Ask for the company's bank details, since a company's invoice is normally closed by a payment into the company's own account. Alipay and WeChat pay an individual and are open to a narrow group of senders, so they do not fit an invoice.

03How do I pay for 1688 purchases through this route?

If the seller is a company with an account in mainland China, the payment is built exactly like any other invoice. If payment is meant to happen inside the marketplace, through a wallet or to personal details, this is not the route and we will not pretend otherwise.

04Do you vet my supplier?

We check the payment recipient as part of the payment route. That is not a check on the goods, the contract, the quality or the shipment; commercial diligence stays with you.
