CoinGate alternative for USDT top-ups
CoinGate no longer settles in USDT; its checkout lists USDC and EURC instead. Unigox crypto processing is a CoinGate alternative for USDT payments, on Tron and TON too. Keep CoinGate for plugins, bitcoin and weekly fiat settlement.
When to stay with CoinGate
Customers pay at your store, by invoice or in bitcoin
CoinGate has plugins for WooCommerce, Magento 2, PrestaShop, OpenCart, WHMCS and Wix, payment links, and billing requests with due dates and recurring billing by API. It also takes bitcoin, including over Lightning, plus ether, litecoin and other coins. Unigox takes USDT and USDC only, on a payment screen your developers build.
You want weekly settlement in euros, pounds or dollars
CoinGate settles automatically every week and can convert payments to EUR, GBP or USD; SEPA withdrawals to your own bank are free, with a 50 EUR minimum. Unigox credits the stablecoin the customer sent, and any conversion is a separate step you choose.
Your counterparty must be authorised under MiCA
UAB Decentralized, the company behind CoinGate, is a crypto-asset service provider authorised by the Bank of Lithuania, and also a payment institution for e-money token transfers. A buyer whose policy names MiCA should keep CoinGate.
How CoinGate and Unigox take a customer's top-up
| Topic | CoinGate | Unigox |
|---|---|---|
| USDT | Not in CoinGate's currency lists for checkout or payment channels. It limited USDT payments and stopped settling in USDT, saying Tether had not met MiCA rules; USDC took its place. | Accepted next to USDC, and a USDT payment is credited as USDT. |
| Coins and networks | USDC on Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base and Optimism at checkout, and the same networks except Arbitrum for payment channels; EURC on Ethereum. Neither list has a stablecoin on Tron or TON. | Crypto processing takes stablecoin payments on the major EVM networks (Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Unichain and HyperEVM), Robinhood Chain, Tron, TON and Solana. Which stablecoins a business accepts on each network is agreed during setup. |
| A customer's own address | Payment channels, on request: one lasting address per client, opened after you create a contact with name, date of birth and country of residence, or company name, registration code and country. A one-off order expires 20 minutes after the shopper picks a coin. | Your backend asks for an address under the customer's reference; the customer pays from any wallet or exchange with no Unigox account. |
| Where the money lands | Kept in crypto or converted to EUR, USD or GBP and settled weekly. Euros go to your own bank account only. | Your Unigox balance, in the stablecoin sent. Hold it, move it to your wallet, or convert it to a local currency such as EUR or GBP, using the withdrawal services open to your company. |
| Paying your users | Crypto payouts by API or by payout link, at 0.50 EUR + 0.5%, or 0.50 EUR + 1.5% with conversion. No EUR payouts to third parties. | Local-currency payouts to your user's own bank or mobile money account, through the Payments API. You fund each one in USDT or USDC from your partner wallet, and the quote shows the rate and fees. |
| Pricing | 1% per payment on the Standard plan with no monthly fee; refunds 0.25 EUR, plus 0.1% when the refund currency differs; Enterprise rates set by volume. | No public price list; priced for your company. |
| Regulation | UAB Decentralized, Lithuania: crypto-asset service provider under MiCA (Bank of Lithuania, LB002323) and payment institution for e-money token transfers (LB002324). | Unigox works through two companies: UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Canada handles the local-money side and is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business and with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider; UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Panama handles the crypto side, including wallets and escrow. |

CoinGate questions
Which CoinGate alternative takes USDT deposits?
Unigox crypto processing takes USDT and USDC, including on Tron and TON, and credits USDT as USDT. CoinGate has limited USDT payments, and its currency lists carry USDC and EURC as its only stablecoins. Platforms whose customers hold USDT need a second route.
What are CoinGate's fees for merchants?
On the Standard plan CoinGate takes 1% of each payment with no monthly fee. Crypto payouts cost 0.50 EUR + 0.5%, or 0.50 EUR + 1.5% with conversion. SEPA withdrawals are free with a 50 EUR minimum, SWIFT costs 0.5%, and refunds cost 0.25 EUR, plus 0.1% when the refund currency differs. On Unigox, crypto processing has no public price list: it is priced for your company.
What does the CoinGate API need before a deposit?
For a one-off payment, an order: the shopper opens its payment URL, and it expires 20 minutes after they choose a coin. For a lasting address, a contact with Travel Rule details, then a payment channel that opens addresses for the coins you pick. With Unigox, your backend requests an address under a customer reference and receives a notification with the reference and the amount that arrived.
Is CoinGate legit and authorised in the EU?
Yes. UAB Decentralized, which runs CoinGate, is authorised under MiCA by the Bank of Lithuania to hold, exchange and transfer crypto-assets for clients, and France's AMF lists it.
