Coinbase Commerce alternative for your stablecoin invoices

Coinbase Business opens to companies in the US and Singapore. Elsewhere, Unigox is a Coinbase Commerce alternative for taking USDT or USDC against invoices and customer balances. US companies, and Singapore ones wanting hosted checkout, should stay.

When Unigox fits better than Coinbase Business

  • Your company is outside the US and Singapore

Coinbase Commerce now redirects to Coinbase Business, and Coinbase Business is open to companies in the US and Singapore. Unigox crypto processing is open to companies elsewhere, apart from the United States and the places its Terms of Service exclude.

  • Your payers send stablecoins on Tron, TON or Solana

Coinbase Business takes USDC on six EVM networks and USDT only on Ethereum, in the US and select jurisdictions; its Checkouts API takes USDC on Base. Unigox addresses take payments on major EVM networks, Robinhood Chain, Tron, TON and Solana.

  • You want USDT kept as USDT

Every Coinbase Business payment settles in USDC. Unigox credits USDT payments as USDT and USDC payments as USDC, so a USDT invoice stays in USDT on your balance.

  • Each customer tops up to one address

The Coinbase Checkouts API takes one payment per checkout, so you create a new one for each transaction, and a reusable payment link takes repeat payments through its own payment page. With Unigox an address can stay assigned to the same customer, who pays it straight from a wallet or exchange, and every payment to it comes with that customer's reference.

When to stay with Coinbase Business

  • Your company is in the United States

Unigox does not currently offer its services in the United States, so a US company that used Coinbase Commerce should stay with Coinbase Business.

  • You want a checkout without building one

Coinbase Business gives you payment links, invoices, plugins and a Checkouts API that returns a payment page to embed. With Unigox your developers build the checkout or top-up screen and connect payment notifications to your records.

  • You cash out to a bank and refund by API

Coinbase Business converts USDC to USD and withdraws it to your linked bank, automatically if you set it up, and refunds completed checkouts in full or in part by API. Unigox crypto processing credits your Unigox balance; converting and withdrawing in local currency depends on the services confirmed for your business during setup.

  • You want trading and USDC rewards in the same account

Coinbase Business lets you buy, sell and hold crypto in the same account and pays rewards on USDC you hold, at a rate that varies by region. Unigox crypto processing receives stablecoin payments; it has no trading or rewards account.

Move from Coinbase Commerce to Unigox

  1. Bring your Coinbase Commerce payment mix

Tell us what your payers sent through Coinbase Commerce: the networks, the stablecoins and how many invoices or customer balances you run. Networks, access and pricing are set on that call.

  2. Build your own payment screen

Your backend requests an address for each invoice or customer, your screen shows the address, network, stablecoin and amount, and your server matches each notification to its record.

  3. Swap the Coinbase links

Show Unigox addresses where your Coinbase Commerce checkout links were. Nothing carries over: addresses, notifications and payment history start new, and payments credit your Unigox balance.

  4. Add company accounts

If you need EUR, GBP or USD in your company's name, apply for Business accounts in Europe. Your company passes a company check (KYB) first.

Coinbase Commerce alternatives: FAQ

Which Coinbase Commerce alternatives work outside the US and Singapore?

Coinbase Commerce now leads to Coinbase Business, which is open to companies in the US and Singapore. Unigox crypto processing serves companies elsewhere: each invoice or customer gets its own payment address on major EVM networks, Robinhood Chain, Tron, TON or Solana, and every payment arrives with your reference. Other gateways, with what each one takes and how it pays out, are compared side by side.

What replaced the Coinbase Commerce API?

Coinbase's developer docs recommend moving from the Commerce Charge API to the Checkouts API, which needs a Coinbase Business account, CDP API keys with JWT authentication and a new base URL, and takes USDC on Base. Unigox crypto processing is a separate integration: your backend requests an address per invoice or customer and receives a notification with the reference and amount for each payment.

What are Coinbase Commerce fees now, and what does Unigox charge?

Coinbase Business charges a fee on each completed payment and shows it after you log in or while you create a payment link; automatic conversion from USDC to USD has its own fee. Unigox crypto processing is priced per company: we agree the price with you on a call before you accept payments.

Can my customers pay in USDT on Tron?

On Coinbase Business, USDT is accepted on Ethereum only, and payments settle in USDC. Tron is among the networks Unigox crypto processing supports, and a USDT payment is credited as USDT.

Can I turn crypto processing payments into EUR, GBP or USD?

Payments are credited to your Unigox balance in the stablecoin the customer sent. You can keep them, send them to your wallet, or convert and withdraw in an available local currency; we confirm the withdrawal services for your business during setup. Company accounts in EUR, GBP or USD in your company's name are a separate product, Business accounts in Europe, with its own company check.

Does anything carry over from Coinbase Commerce?

No. Payment addresses, notification setup and payment history start new with Unigox. Keep your Coinbase account open until payers stop using the old links, because payments to them reach Coinbase, not Unigox.
