Yellow Card crypto alternative for individuals

Yellow Card has closed its app to individuals to focus on businesses. On Unigox you buy or sell USDT for local money yourself. Stay with Yellow Card for its business API or trading desk.

When to stay with Yellow Card

  • An app you already use runs the Yellow Card Widget

Other companies embed the Yellow Card Widget in their apps. Inside one, you still buy or sell stablecoins by bank transfer or mobile money, and Yellow Card sends the coins you buy to the wallet address you enter.

  • You trade $50,000 or more at a time

Yellow Card's Commercial Trading Desk takes USDT orders from high-net-worth individuals and institutions, starting at $50,000 in markets such as Cameroon, Uganda and South Africa, with a trader handling each order.

  • Your business collects or pays out in Africa

Yellow Card's Payment API takes local payments and sends payouts by bank transfer and mobile money, and converts the money to and from USDT or USDC. It publishes a per-transaction price for each country and method.

Yellow Card and Unigox for one person's USDT trade

Yellow Card no longer serves individuals in its own app, so its column describes the widget a partner app embeds.

Move from the Yellow Card app to Unigox in three steps

  1. Open an account and pass the ID check

The ID check you passed with Yellow Card does not carry over. Sign up on Unigox and verify your identity; it is required before the first trade, at any amount.

  2. Bring the USDT you want to sell

Send it from the exchange or wallet that holds it. For a balance still in the Yellow Card app, ask its support team for a refund to a bank or mobile money account in your name, or to a wallet address on the coin's network.

  3. Pick buy or sell and confirm the rate

Choose your currency and whether you buy or sell, name the bank or mobile money account you used with Yellow Card, and accept the rate Unigox quotes for your amount.

Questions about switching from Yellow Card

Does the Yellow Card crypto app still work?

Not for individuals. Yellow Card closed its app to retail customers and now sells its services to businesses; a balance left in the app is refunded on request through its support team. To keep buying and selling USDT for local money yourself, open a Unigox account and pass the identity check.

Are reviews of the Yellow Card app still accurate?

Older reviews describe the retail app, which has closed. Yellow Card now sells mainly to businesses: a Payment API and a widget other apps embed, plus a trading desk for institutions and high-net-worth individuals placing large orders.

Does Yellowcard have an API for businesses?

Yes. Its Payment API collects and pays out local money by bank transfer and mobile money and converts it to and from stablecoins. Unigox has a Payments API for the same kind of work: local payouts and collections by bank account or mobile money, with payouts funded and collections received in USDT or USDC.
